If they’re paying for it, I don’t see what the problem is.

I recently saw an ad wherein H&R Block claimed that they would be fully liable for any errors made. This ad also said something about refunding the error difference. Check with them to see what exactly their policy is and what you can do about it. If I were you, I would not let up until either they pay the Government for you or allow the corrections to be made. After all why else would you pay a service like H&R Block to do your taxes; They are supposed to be responsible and do it correctly.

What is the $1,385??? If it is taxes that are due if the return was prepared properly, then they they would have been due anyway. Did their mistake just make you think that you didn’t owe something? If the $1,385 is penalties and interest due to a preparers error then I think that H&R Block will pay for that.
Check with the office manager where you got your return prepared. If you don’t get the answer that you are looking for than check with the district manager. Good luck.
