Yes we have been saying it since the first bail out under Bush, And now Obama admits it yet still plans on spending more. I have to wonder if he is playing with our minds to prepare us for the next round of tax hikes. He already has Cigarettes and there is talk about sodas and liquor, So you have to wonder whats next. Since he doesn’t want to borrow but does want to keep on spending….

But listen between the lines. With Obama you have to ask yourself How is this statement going to affect me, or why is he saying this.
My conclusion to hearing this speech is to get ready for the Taxes to begin. Not stop spending. He has pretty much paid off his contributors and declares to reduce the deficit AFTER his spending spree. So to recoup you Tax, tax, tax. Let ‘s see, that is not healthy…..potato chips, a candy bar, a cold beer, a fast food hamburger, forget the fries etc.

The spending was necessary to help those without jobs and to jump start the economy. What many people fail to realize is that the government is not like a business. It’s purpose is not to make money, it is to protect the citizens. That usually takes money. If nothing was done, the economy would be in way worse shape. Once job losses start increasing, people put less and less money into the economy, and more job losses occur. This cycle needed to be stopped.

So why did the republicans keep giving tax cuts increasing the debt every year they had full control of the government?Bush started with a $5 trillion debt and increased it to almost $11 trillion.Just as he started with a surplus and turned it into a deficit in his first year in office.

Just my personal opinion here > I’ve always thought Al Gore was literally insane and unstable. His loss in the election I believe really sent him over the edge.
I also see Mr Obama as a person with some kind of defect. Maybe a split personality or maybe a delusional mind that actually believes his own lies. Either that or he’s so arrogant that he sees the average citizen as a moron who could never catch on when they’re being duped. > google NPD and you’ll see the connection here.

@Helios: UR RIGHT! We also protested the Bush administration, because Bush is black. (Bush is approximately as black as Obama, with a standard deviation of 15%).
The reason we hate the Federal Reserve is because so many Fed chairmen have been black. We are such racists!!!

Guess it’s been just long enough to forget, and for the next generation of voters to assert themselves, to re-invent the “Wheel” …

As with some of the favorite nonsense, money-pit “Pork” projects locally/Nationally, (insurance company run National Health-Care comes to mind), get shot down and then return (no improvements/new ideas)(just perfume on a pig), ten years later.
Enough time passed to trot that turkey out again, because those who knew better are dead, and those who don’t know squat, think it’s great.
Hillary promised National Health Care two decades ago, and NOT ONE Doctor was on her panel/committee of experts. Telling, eh?
