If you are in the US, write to the attorney general of your state. Copy the finance company on the letter you send.
In the letter, provide an explanation of the payment(s) not being credited, proof that you made the payments (copies, not originals), and approximate number of times and dates that you have contacted the finance company to get this straightened out.
Send both letters ‘return receipt requested’.
